FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - 26-year-old Christopher Norris was sentenced Monday morning to a year in prison for shooting 29-year-old Tituse James last July after a neighborhood disturbance.
Norris had pleaded guilty to criminal recklessness a Class-D felony.
In exchange, prosecutors dropped the more serious charge of aggravated battery.
When the shooting happened, James was rushed to the hospital in serious condition.
Witnesses told police the men argued and they heard gun-shots from inside a home on Berwyn Lane.
When officers arrived, a K-9 officer tracked Norris to a home on John Street.
