Shooting Victim Fatally Injured at Diplomat Apartment Complex Identified

Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The Diplomat Apartment complex was the scene of the second shooting that occurred earlier Tuesday morning.

Police were called to the apartments located at Wayne Trace and Rudisill, where they found 43-year-old Robert Jackson, Jr. down on the ground in the parking lot.

Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Allen County Coroner's Office has ruled Jackson's death to be the 21st homicide of the year in Fort Wayne and the cause of death from a gun shot wound.

Police do not believe Jackson's death is connected to another shooting that occurred earlier in the morning, although they were a few blocks away from each other.
