SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- A six year old is facing criminal charges after he kicked and punched a school principal.
According to the principal, it wasn't an easy decision to have the child arrested, but that the situation had become too much for the school to handle.
Principal Patrick Lumbley says it was not an isolated incident. "They have definitely tried and it was just a situation where we had reached a point where we wanted something positive to happen. I know that that's maybe not a word people would use in a situation like this, but we have to look at the big picture - not just where this child is at age six but where this child's going to be at age ten through fifteen. So we need to take the steps necessary to try and get the child on the road to success."
The child's parents have been cooperative over past incidents and have been trying to get help.
