Fort Wayne firefighters respond to a garage and attic fire Saturday afternoon at 8125 Pepperwood Ct.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Fort Wayne firefighters battled an afternoon garage fire in the Lima Valley addition.
Around 2:30 p.m. Saturday, neighbors noticed a fire at 8125 Pepperwood Ct. Flames started inside the garage, but moved to the attic, according to the Fort Wayne Fire Department.
The fire was under control in 22 minutes, fire officials say.
The owners of the home were not home at the time, but firefighters did rescue four pets from the home. The pets were not harmed.
It is not clear what caused the fire, but fire officials say there is heavy fire, smoke and water damage to part of the home.
