FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A local fast food restaurant has closed its door in Fort Wayne.

A sign hangs on the door the Sonic Restaurant on Lima Road near DuPont, saying it is closed.

A manager on site could not comment on the situation.

A statement from Sonic Headquarters reads:

"Over the past few months, SONIC and the franchisee have been evaluating the Fort Wayne, Ind., locations. After careful consideration, we regret to announce that the franchisee who owns and operates the drive-ins in Fort Wayne has closed three and is in the process of closing a fourth location. The franchisee has decided to pursue other business opportunities.

The decision to close a drive-in is never easy. SONIC hopes to return to Fort Wayne and bring residents SONIC’s signature Carhop service in the future."
