INDIANAPOLIS (RTV6) -- State officials and an event production company have reached an agreement to settle a safety order issued after the deadly stage rigging collapse at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration (IOSHA) announced Monday that Greenfield-based Mid America Sound Corporation will pay $50,000 in fines in four installments.
The company has also conducted additional safety training and developed new safety procedures as part of the agreement.
Seven people were killed and dozens more were injured when high winds blew the stage rigging down on a crowd waiting for a Sugarland performance on Aug. 13, 2011.
The original proposed fine for Mid America was $63,000.
