INDIANA (www.incnow.tv) -- Indiana's high school graduation rate has slightly improved over the past year.

The Indiana Department of Education released high school graduation rate data Monday. Statewide, the rate in 2012 was 88.38-percent, up from 86.61-percent in 2011.

The federal rate was 87-percent. Because the federal rate exempt fewer students from the group, the federal graduation rate is lower than the Indiana rate.
