INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- A senate committee Wednesday passed a statewide business smoking ban.
The Senate Policy Committee voted 8 to 2 to move the measure on to the full Senate.
The measure exempts casinos and private clubs.
The vote took place following four hours of testimony by supporters and opponents.
Authors of the bill say they realize their proposal isn't perfect, but it's the best they can do given the current climate for such a measure in the state.
