WINONA LAKE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- United States Congressman Marlin Stutzman was in Winona Lake Monday for a town hall to answer questions from constituents.
Before doing so, Stutzman met with local healthcare companies to answers concerns about the national healthcare law.
Stutzman, a member of the House Budget Committee, says companies like Great-Batch Medical are raising concerns over the Med Tech Tax medical device companies will face in 2013.
The Med Tech Tax is a 2.3% tax on devices like orthopedics.
Stutzman says Northeast Indiana companies are concerned they might have to cut costs or workforce under the law in 2013.
“It's a job killer,” says Congressman Stutzman. “You know, the economy has got its bright spot right now, but the last thing we need is for higher taxes and more regulations to kick in.”
Indiana’s NewsCenter also talked to Congressman Stutzman about the Presidential race and who he might support. Stutzman says he is unsure which candidate he will support but he says the primary is a good thing for the GOP.
He says the primaries “Make us figure out who we are exactly.”
