Sacramento, CA., (Indiana's NewsCenter)--- California is the first state to ban minors from using tanning beds with or without a parents content..

Governor Jerry Brown announced on Sunday that he had signed into law a bill that prevents children under 18 from using the popular tanning method.

The law takes effect on January 1.
