FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- In observation of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, The Rescue Mission will be hosting Tour and Learn events on Nov. 16 to educate the community about the plight of homelessness and hunger.
Two sessions will be available: one at 11:30 a.m. and the other at 4:30 p.m. at the 301 W. Superior St. location.
The event, which is open by RSVP to the public, will allow individuals the unique opportunity to get a glimpse of homelessness from the inside. Guests will get to experience what it’s like to enter The Rescue Mission’s doors for a meal, eat in the kitchen, and tour the dormitories.
Guests will hear a resident’s testimony, hear from Rev. Donovan Coley about homelessness and hunger in the Fort Wayne area, and a question/answer session will be included.
Each session is expected to last one hour. Tours of our Charis House facility will be available to interested participants after each session.
For more information about this event, or to RSVP, please contact Diane Richardson at 260.426.7357 ext. 12, or via e-mail at diane@therescuemission.net.
