Threat Of A Possible Shooting Sends Police To Northrop High School

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) -- The threat of a possible shooting sent police rushing to Northrop High School Tuesday afternoon.

It turned out differently, but administrators and police took the call very seriously.

Krista Stockman with the Fort Wayne Community Schools told Indiana's NewsCenter that no gun was found despite the rumors.

Tuesday morning, police scanners were buzzing with "the threat of a shooting".

Around 2:30 this afternoon, extra police were dispatched to Northrop.

When Indiana’s NewsCenter crews arrived, the school was not on lock down, students were leaving the building and buses were preparing to take kids home.

One student said one of his peers was taken out of a classroom by administrators and police.

Wimbley says, “All I saw is they came, the administration came with an officer and came and grabbed a student out the class.”

Krista Stockman says that to her knowledge, no one was arrested.

Police just aren't going to fool around on even verbal threats
