Tire Fire At Mid American Steel

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Black smoke could be seen miles away after a downed power line sparked a tire fire at Mid American Steel Wednesday afternoon.

It was just after one when Fort Wayne firefighters were called to the Moeller Road business.

According to investigators, a crane came in contact with some power lines and ignited a large pile of tires stored outside the facility.

No one was injured.
