Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - A huge event is taking place at the Parkview Regional Medical Center Wednesday evening as the hospital is hosting a reuniting event for patients, their doctors, and caregivers.

The event is expected to be so big that a traffic alert was issued for that area that is expected to be pretty clogged later in the day.

It's estimated that close to 1,500 former patients who RSVP'd and their doctors and caregivers will meet for the Parkview Orthopaedic Hospital Reunion. Patients who've received things like joint, knee and shoulder replacements were invited to attend.

But before they're reunited here, they of course have to get here and they're expected to start coming during the afternoon rush hour, around 5 p.m. with the event lasting until 6:30 p.m.

If you're traveling near I-69 and Dupont or live in the area expect a traffic delay.

For drivers out there who want to avoid the area here are your options.

1. I-69 to Exit 112, Coldwater Road – head north on Coldwater to Dupont Road. From there, traffic to the hospital would turn right (east).

2. I-69 to Exit 111, SR 3/Lima Road – head north to (almost immediately) Washington Center Road, and turn right (east) to Clinton Street. Turn left (north) to Dupont Road, then left (west) to the hospital.

(Alternatively, turning left on Diebold Road before Dupont takes motorists to Dupont Road, very close to the hospital;
OR, from Washington Center, motorists can turn left (north) onto Coldwater Road.)

3. From the center of town, motorists can take Spy Run to Clinton and either head north on Lima, Coldwater or Clinton to Dupont Road.

While SR 3/Lima Road north from I-69 does take motorists to Dupont Road, it is much farther west of the hospital than they probably would want to be. Also, from Clinton, they could take Auburn Road, but there is a 3-way stop at Cook Road that can be very busy at that time of day (5-6 p.m.)
