Waterloo, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) – An early morning train accident shut down the tracks in Waterloo Sunday. It happened just after 4:00 a.m. near the Center Street intersection.
According to The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department a Norfolk Southern mail train collided with a 1998 Dodge Dakota pick-up truck and drug it about a mile down before coming to a stop. The pick-up was totaled but thankfully no occupants were inside at the time of the crash.
It's estimated that the crashed caused $200,000 worth of damage to both the track and train.
