FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Some rain and wind isn’t stopping area kids from enjoying a little Halloween trick-or-treating and Fort Wayne firefighters and police officers are also embracing the tradition.
FWFD will be giving out candy at several stations and from Station 19 in southwest Fort Wayne, some of the firefighters are bringing the candy to the kids by hitting the streets in the firetruck.
Every FWPD uniformed police officer on the streets Thursday night will also be handing out candy to kids who say “trick-or-treat”. They do ask that if the officer is on a run or at the scene of an accident, that the children do not approach those officers.
This year they have 100 bags of candy and every year, rain or shine, they run out of candy.
Fort Wayne's official hours are Thursday, Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m.
