FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - You might notice pink ribbons hanging throughout the city and if you look closely at those ribbons you’ll see a name of someone who is battling or has lost the fight with breast cancer.

The ribbons can be purchased for as little as five dollars with the proceeds going to the Vera Bradley Fundraiser for Breast Cancer Research and Awareness.

Catherine Hill with the Vera Bradley Foundation says, “So we are hanging ribbons throughout downtown. Pretty soon we will start hanging ribbons throughout 36 different neighborhoods that are also participating this year. We've already raised around $40,000 with this campaign."

The Fort Wayne TinCaps are showing their support with a "Pink Out" game, May 27th.

There will also be a Vera Bradley golf and tennis outing at the end of the month with proceeds going to the benefit.

For more information on how you can donate visit the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer website.
