Angola, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- Sheriff Tim Troyer commended two of his officers on Friday for action they took during an early morning apartment fire.
On May 29, 2012, a fire was reported at Village Green apartments in Angola around 6 a.m. Deputy Kevin Kane responded to assist and Confinement Officer Jamie Warner was near the complex after completer her shift at the jail.
Both of them evacuated residents. All of the residents were evacuated from the building and there were no reports of injuries. Because the two got everyone out safely, the fire department was able to begin to work on the fire as soon as they arrived.
Both Kane and Warner received a Letter of Commendation from Sheriff Troyer for their response to the fire and for taking life saving action.
