HUNTINGTON COUNTY, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Two people died Thursday after their vehicle ran a red light and crashed into a garbage truck during their morning commute.
According to police, a white Dodge Neon traveling west on County Road 200 N was struck by a garbage truck heading south on State Road 9 just after 6 A.M.
Investigators believe the Neon ran a red light causing the collision, which killed the Neon's occupants 20-year-old Raymond Lovelady of Fairmount and 19-year-old Lindsey Hall of Gas City instantly. The driver of the garbage truck was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and later released.
Southbound SR 9 was closed for cleanup.
