ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - As a way to combat Indiana’s growing problem with overdoses on prescription medications, Walgreens is offering to accept your unused or expired drugs, no questions asked.

On Friday, several of its stores will accept your drugs as part of the 12th semi-annaul "Unwanted Medication Disposal Day."

It's also a way to keep the medications out of the water supply, since you shouldn't throw the drugs away or flush them down the toilet.

The following is a list of the Walgreens locations taking part in the event from 9 A.M. – 1 P.M. on the April 27th:

-Clinton St. at St. Joe Center Rd.
-W. Jefferson at Getz Rd.
-Bluffton Rd. at Lower Huntington Rd.
-State St. at Wels St.
-Lincoln Highway W. at Brookwood (New Haven)
-Chapel Ridge at 10170 Maysville Rd.
-1701 E. Paulding Rd. at South Anthony Blvd.
-Cook and Lima Rd.
-Dupont and Tonkel Rd.

The Walgreens event coincides with National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, held on Saturday, April 28th, from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. in front of the Federal Building at 1300 S. Harrison Street.

In the past 13 months the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and local law-enforcement agencies have removed 995,185 pounds (498.5 tons) of medication from circulation.

You can keep the drugs in their bottles since everything will be incinerated.
