Victims Of Mortgage Discrimination Could Get Thousands In Settlement (VIDEO)

INDIANA (www.incnow.tv) -- U.S. Attorney Joe Hogsett announced a joint venture between the Department of Justice and the U.S. Attorney's Civic Rights Task Force to locate Indiana victims of discriminatory lending practices by Countrywide Financial Corporation.

The $335 million settlement stems from allegations that from 2004 to 2008, Countrywide intentionally charged more that 13,000 black and Hispanic borrowers higher fees and interest rates that white borrowers with similar credit profiles, while intentionally directing more minority applicants toward risky sub-prime mortgages.
