Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The Healthy Cities Health Fair is hoping to help under-insured and un-insured veterans, as well as people who are homeless.
The event, located at 413 E. Jefferson Blvd., is designed to provide cancer screenings, flu and pneumonia shots, check-ups and dental and vision services.
People will also be given free haircuts, personal hygiene items and coats.
Everything is provided by volunteers.
Health fair coordinator Denise Jordan says, “We also have the coat tent which is immediately behind us where we have coats that have been donated from so many people to help get clients warm this winter.”
This is the 22nd year for the Healthy Cities Health Fair, and it runs until 3:30 Friday afternoon.
Last year, more than 600 people received services at the event.
