Indianapolis (Indiana’s NewsCenter) -This weekend is the 96th running of the Indianapolis 500, and it's expected to be extremely warm.

The hottest race day in Indianapolis occurred in 1937. The high that day was 92º. Sunday's forecasted high is 93º. Even if the temperature only reaches 90º, that still puts it in the top five hottest Indy 500 races.

When taking into consideration the sun, all the people, and all those car engines, it's easily going to feel like it's 100º or more at the race track this weekend.

If driving to Indianapolis this weekend, make sure to have a cooler full of water in addition to those adult beverages. Otherwise, dehydration could occur, and the cars won't be the only thing crashing on Sunday.

If watching the race on television, just crank up the air-conditioning and make sure to drink plenty of fluids. Either way, it's going to be hot this Memorial Day weekend.
