WARSAW, Ind. (21Alive) -- Warsaw Police were called to the Kosciusko Community Hospital Monday around 1:30 p.m. for a stabbing that had occurred on E. Winona Ave.

The investigation found that a man saw his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend parked in the 700 block of E. Winona Ave. and stopped to confront them.

According to police, the woman was between the two men when the suspect, 24-year-old Donaldo Velasquez, reached in the pick-up truck and cut the 29-year-old victim, with a razor blade on the right side of his face and head.

Velasquez fled and the girlfriend drove the victim to the hospital. Nappanee Police located the vehicle and took Velasquez into custody.

The suspect was transported back to Warsaw and admitted his involvement. He was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on a class B felony charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. He is being held with no bond.

Police did not indicate whether the suspect was the new or ex-boyfriend.
