Main Break Shuts Down Water In Columbia City

Columbia City, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- Crews are working on repairing a 12" water main break at 205 and 30.

Water is shut down for the Peabody Library, Eagle Glen and Irish Glen. The library is closed for the day

The hospital has a backup well and is not affected. The break occured in front of the hospital and hospital officials immediately switched to their well system which is working perfectly. According to officials the break did not impact patient care or any other hospital related funtions at any time.

The medical office plaza that is connected with the hospital was not connected to the well and officials have provided extra bottles of water. Patients who have appointments at the medical office on Tuesday are encouraged to call ahead to see if anything has changed.

Estimated time of repair is not known at this time.
