Whitley County Issues Burn Ban

Whitley County (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- Whitley County has issued a burn ban effective immediately and continuing until 1p.m. July 2nd.

A limited local disaster has been declared and the county is banning the use of:

A. Campfires and other recrational fires

B. Open burning of any kind using conventional fuel such as wood, or other combustible matter, with the exception of grils bueled by charcole briquesttes, natural gas or propane.

C. The burning of debris, such as timber or vegetation (grass & leaves), including such debris that result from building construction activities.

D. Burning in burn barrels.
