Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Thousands of motorcycles are on the road around Fort Wayne and that can only mean one thing, the Wing Dingers are back in town.
Wednesday is the first full day of the annual Honda Gold Wing Road Riders Convention. The convention will run through Saturday.
Friday night, the traditional "Wing Ding Grand Parade" will be back, along with the favorite "Couple of the Year Reunion" and fireworks to end the day.
We caught up with Mary MacDonald from Tennessee who's no stranger to the biker convention.
MacDonald says, “It's my 5th or 6th Wing Ding but 1st one in Fort Wayne. The people have been really, really friendly. We went out to Grabill last night for a welcoming party and we had a great time.”
The convention is expected to bring $5 million in new money to the Summit City, according to Visit Fort Wayne. New money is defined as money that would not have otherwise come to Fort Wayne or would have been spent in Fort Wayne.
In addition to their own activities, Wing Dingers spent Thursday night in Grabill eating Amish cuisine and will also head to a Tincaps game and see fireworks at IPFW.
If you'd like to attend Wing Ding events, a day pass is $22 for non-members.
