FORT WAYNE, IN (Indiana's Newscenter)--
Back in October, we met Jacyln Croussore , she was one of 4 local brides who were searching for a Fort Wayne wedding photographer. David Chandler-Gick and his company, A Deveraux Film had seemingly vanished, leaving desperate newlyweds waiting almost a year without answers or pictures.
Jaclyn- "it makes me sick to my stomach that I'm not going to get those pictures"
That comment was made in October, when the company wouldn't comment to us, The Croussore's decided to got to small claims court, The photographer's wife showed up, but a few days later, Jacyln got a letter from the court saying she'd won
Jaclyn- "I won my case to get personal property, which is the digital negatives, I'm really thrilled to get the digital negatives, they're full size so I can do whatever I want with them"
Jaclyn and 3 other brides have all won decisions in court for personal property and they've all received their negatives from A Deveraux Film. Jaclyn has now taken her 1700 Wedding pictures to a new photographer and tells us she's thrilled about finally getting the priceless pictures made of her special day. She says it's been a painful lesson that will change the way she makes consumer decisions.
Jaclyn- "Definitely check with places like the Better Business Bureau for other things, but I wouldn't have thought of doing that for my wedding pictures"
Jacklyn tells us her fellow brides haven't ruled out a future lawsuit, since many of them paid in full before their wedding day. A Jacksonville, Florida bride also recently won a judgment in court to receive her digital negatives. According to our research, A Deveraux Film is no longer in business.
