FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The changes Governor Daniels is proposing to Indiana educators has some at Fort Wayne Community Schools concerned.
At their last meeting administrators told the board to brace for an additional $4 million in budget cuts for the coming year.
FWCS Chief Financial Officer Kathy Friend says, “The governor recently stated that the budget would not be cut further in 2011 and it really was cut about $9 million in 2011, because the original state budget was cut in 2010 and was reset in 2011. So we are getting $9 million less than anticipated.
Friend went on to say they will hold a series of meetings over the summer to determine what will be cut.
