DETROIT/ FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - General Motors continues its road to recovery after seeing a 7-percent increase in 2010 sales as compared to 2009.
The automaker reported it's first profit since emerging from bankruptcy and being bailed out by the federal government.
Local GM dealerships are making more money as well.
Tom Kelley with the Kelley Automotive Group says, “We ended the year I would guess up about 20% over 2009, which considering we lost Pontiac, and Hummer and Saturn and Saab, we're happy with those results.
Local GM Union President Orval Plumlee says, “If the rest of the country is working as hard as these workers are out here at this plant, I'd look for this be one of the first of many good reports.”
Analysts expect GM sales to continue to go up this year.
