Government Bans Drop Side Cribs

WASHINGTON (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The government has announced a ban on all drop-side cribs.

The move means the sale of those cribs will be prohibited beginning in June.

The cribs have contributed to more than 30 infant deaths and several recalls.

Bad hardware or assembly problems can cause the drop-side rail to detach, creating a gap where the baby can suffocate or strangle.
