INDIANA (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Overhauling the state's criminal sentencing system is just one of many suggestions being considered by Indiana lawmakers hoping to trim the cost, associated with the over-crowded state prisons.
Next year's budget for the Department of Corrections Is 1.3 percent more than this year's, coming-in at little over $667 million.
Governor Daniels says he'd like lawmakers to take a closer look at sentence modifications as a means to cut down on the prison population.
