President Obama Wants Federal Workers To Get A Pay Freeze

WASHINGTON (Indiana's NewsCenter) - In 2009, the average federal worker earned more than $123,000 in pay and benefits.

And President Obama said it's time for the federal government to tighten it's belt as the rest of American has been forced to do.

I did not reach this decision easily. This is not just a line item on a federal register. These are people's lives."

The pay freeze will require Congressional approval.

The President says there are more tough decisions to come.
