(Fort Wayne, IN)--We will have to wait another week to find out if money will be diverted from the Grand Wayne center to help get the Harrison Square project off the ground.
Mayor Graham Richard’s administration is asking the Grand Wayne Center board to commit 2-point-5 million dollars over ten years.
To help fund construction of a new hotel near where a new baseball stadium is envisioned downtown.
But board members postponed a vote on committing the money until the hotel developers announce what kind of hotel will be built.
The board wants to make sure the hotel will be one of Marriott’s higher quality brands.
The board will re-convene one week from today and vote on the commitment of money to Harrison Square, assuming the hotel brand name has been revealed by that time.
