Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- Wednesday night, David Long kicked-off his re-election campaign.

Long is running against Tom Keen, a navy veteran, who works at ITT. Long, the Senate President Pro Tem, represents District 16.

He says he can't take anything for granted and still needs to work hard for constituents.

"Every four years you are being rehired, or not. Running for re-election I don't think you take it for granted." says Long. "The key thing is to stay in touch with your constituents, work hard for them, do the best job you can, take the most informed vote you can, and at the end of four years you make your case and I intend to do that again this year."
