WASHINGTON (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Just before midnight on Wednesday, Congress worked out the final details on a deal to extend the Payroll Tax Cut through the end of the year.

That may be welcome relief for 160-million taxpayers who will keep their $1,000 tax credit but that’ll add about $100 billion to the National Debt.

Additionally unemployment benefits will keep rolling, though the maximum 99 weeks will drop to 73 by year's end.

It also blocks a 27-percent cut in payments for doctors who treat Medicare patients.
