INDIANAPOLIS (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Just before Noon on Friday, Governor Mitch Daniels appointed State Senator Connie Lawson as Indiana's New Secretary of State.
Lawson has served in the State Senate since 1996, representing Putnam and Hendricks counties, just west of Indianapolis.
She replaces disgraced Secretary of State Charlie White, who was removed from office last month after being convicted of felony voter fraud.
He was sentenced to serve a year on home detention.
Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman swore Lawson in immediately after the announcement.
