Wisconsin (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Wisconsin voters still believe Republican Governor Scott Walker should get to keep his job after he was able to successfully overcome a recall vote on Tuesday.
Wednesday morning Walker was considered a Republican hero.
The final count was a lot closer than expected but the win could make Governor Scott Walker a GOP superstar for taking on the unions in his state and surviving their countermove to take him down.
Voter turnout was huge as some saw the vote as a preview of the presidential election.
Overall conservatives pumped $47 million into Walker's campaign, that's a record.
Walker got Mitt Romney's endorsement. While President Obama reluctantly backed Democratic challenger Tom Barrett.
Even with the Republican victory it doesn't seem like the result will reflect what happens this fall.
Exit polls showed that Wisconsin voters still prefer President Obama.
