MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) - The Muncie city council wants its meetings
governed by the golden rule.
The council passed a resolution calling for officials and the
public to "treat others as they would wish to be treated" during
meetings.
Council member Brad Polk sponsored the resolution. He says he
got the idea after a meeting in January, when an argument between a
member of the public and several officials degenerated into
name-calling.
Council member Monte Murphy voted against the measure, calling
it "just more paperwork."
