FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A well-known GOP senatorial candidate talked policy during a visit to Fort Wayne Monday.
Coats says he wants to provide tax incentives to promote small and medium business growth.
He says taxes and health care policies will hurt those businesses.
The former senator also weighed in on troop withdrawal in Iraq.
Coats says, “I’m moving Iraq forward, I think we need to do whatever is necessary in order to keep that going forward in the right direction and not letting it revert. Hopefully the decision on the part of the President to keep 50,000 troops there will achieve that purpose. If it doesn't, then I think that a decision needs to be revisited.”
Coats also says it's important all the effort put into the Iraq war not be lost for lack of future U.S. support.
