Republican Hughes 'All In' For Mayor's Race

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Paula Hughes is getting a head start in Fort Wayne's mayoral race.

The president of the Allen County Council will officially announce her candidacy at noon today.

Hughes, a Republican, is kicking off her campaign early since the mayoral election isn't until next year.

But Hughes could soon have company in the race for the Republican nomination for mayor. There have been rumors Ft. Wayne City Councilwoman Liz Brown plans to launch her own campaign. But Brown has denied those reports.

Democrat Mayor Tom Henry hasn't yet said he's running for re-election.

The discussion of the 2011 mayoral race comes as politicans are focused right now on theCongressional mid-term elections coming up in November.
