ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Indiana's attorney general is going after foreclosure consultants falsely promising to keep your home out of foreclosure or your money back.

Attorney General Greg Zoeller announced Thursday the coordinated filing of ten different lawsuits against such companies across the state like Allen County's Colonial Financial Solutions.

Zoeller says the company took more than a thousand dollars from a Fort Wayne resident without providing any services.

Zoeller says, “Indiana is not a friendly place for people who come and scam consumers. That message needs to be carried loud and clear to the people we're suing today, but also to warn consumers to be on guard."

This week the Federal Trade Commission announced that beginning October 27th debt relief organizations will no longer be able to charge upfront for services that have yet to be performed.
