Baghdad Blasts Kill Three Wound Ten

A parked car bomb exploded on Wednesday next to a police patrol in the predominantly Shiite neighbourhood of Binook, in northern Baghdad, killingone civilian and wounding seven others, including three policemen, police officials said.

Also on Wednesday, a roadside bomb exploded next to a US military patrolnear Baghdad's Green Zone, killing two civilians, police said.

The explosion shook central Baghdad around 8 a.m. (0500 GMT) - many
residents believed it was a truck bomb, because of the magnitude of the
blast.

The US military had no immediate comment on the incident, which police said occurred in the Salihiyah area on the west side of the Tigris River, across from a security gate leading into the US-guarded Green Zone.

Three more civilians were also wounded in the blast, police said.
