FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Fort Wayne's Tincaps are extending the Independence Day celebrations by honoring area military members and veterans.
It's Military Appreciation Day at Parkview Field.
That means veterans and active duty personnel and their families can find out about benefits and services available to them. More than a dozen community organizations will be on hand at the ballpark.
The kiosks feature everything from the Red Cross to how to apply for government benefits.
Bob Rummel with Army OneSource says, “Whether they be Vietnam era Veterans or OEF-OIF Veterans recently. There not sure what's available to them or they have missed some of the benefits. And new benefits are being added all the time.”
The first pitch will be thrown out for Monday afternoon's game at 3:05 against the Bowling Green Hot Rods.
The resource fair will be open until the sixth inning of the ball game.
