ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - East Allen County Schools need to make drastic cuts to meet its next budget.
According to our partner in news, the Journal Gazette, if the district continues its current spending, it will be nearly $9.5 million in the hole for the 2011 school year.
If cuts aren't made, East Allen would have to use funds from its operating balance.
Superintendent Karyle Green wants the school board to approve a plan to re-design the district, a move that could save up to $8 million.
State funding cuts and lower property tax revenue are being blamed for the budget issues.
