First Annual Kekionga Trade Fair

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The first annual Kekionga Living History Trade Fair at the Allen County Fair Grounds concludes tomorrow.

There are craftsmen attending from five different states that perform reenactments from the 1840's time period. The reenactors love to teach history and tell stories. Some have been involved in this hobby for forty years or more.

Here's a look at many of the activites going on at the fairgrounds:

Flint Knapping, Native American Love Flutes, Hand Made Dalcimers, Home Made Soaps, Furniture, Silver Smiths, Tin Smiths, Blacksmiths, Bladesmiths, Pioneer Clothing for all ages, Spinning Wheels, Wood Carvings and Paintings, Bead and Leather Work.

Ft. Wayne's very own Scrimshaw Artist George Trendle and Wool Loomer Tom Bates will be attending.

There also will be a Period Church Service done around 8:15 A.M. Sunday by "Preacher Mike" Kaufman.

The Fair Grounds is a non-profit organization and all vender fees, gate fees and concessions will go to the Fair Grounds as a fund raiser to help promote 4-H and other activities at the Fair Grounds.
