INDIANA (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Teachers will rally at the Statehouse from 5- 6 pm Monday night to challenge the Governor's plan to “dismantle public education in Indiana.”
This, as the State's Department of Education Department released the first draft of its new teacher evaluation protocol where evaluations tie a teacher's performance to students' test scores.
State Schools Superintendent Tony Bennett says the goal is to put students first.
He says that's done by making sure all schools use fair and rigorous evaluations to recognize and reward excellent teachers and school leaders, and identify educators who'd benefit from meaningful feedback for improvement.
