INDIANAPOLIS (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Residents in the central and southern half of the state had to deal with about an inch thick layer of ice as well as all the snow.
Reports say dozens of people were injured after slipping on icy sidewalks and driveways. One Indianapolis woman slipped and fell down a large embankment requiring firefighters to string a rope down the slope to rescue the woman.
And highways were a hazard for police as at least four officers were struck by vehicles while working crashes on interstates in three different counties on Wednesday.
At least one of the officers had serious injuries.
