INDIANA (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - A bill that would crack down on illegal immigration in the Hoosier state will now be considered by the full Senate.
The measure passed out of committee Thursday morning.
The bill would require businesses and government agencies to verify citizenship or immigration status before offering employment or benefits.
It would also require police to verify citizenship or immigration status "in certain situations."
And it would require that only English be used "with certain exceptions" in public meetings and in state matters.
