FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Limo, cab, and shuttle bus companies that serve Fort Wayne International Airport may soon be subjected to a tougher code of conduct.

The Airport Board's Real Estate and Development Committee recently approved a “ground transportation ordinance.”

It will be introduced to the board itself next Monday.

The comprehensive set of rules governs the actions of both companies and their drivers.

Fort Wayne International Airport Executive Director Tory Richardson says, “It identifies what we expect of them and then unfortunately, if there are non-compliance issues, there's the schedule, if you will, of non-complying conditions and what the penalties are for those."

A public hearing and vote on the ordinance could come in January.
